There are many tell-tale signs that you should replace your old pillow. If you’re having more trouble going to sleep or waking up with neck or shoulder pain, it may be your pillow. If it feels lumpy, used, or has stains that won’t come out, it is time to get a new pillow.
When you start to develop neck and shoulder pain when sleeping, take note. Your pillow could have stopped cradling your neck properly at night. When this happens, your head often sinks into the pillow causing your neck to under extend and causing strain. If you experience either of these signs, it’s time to get a new one.
If your snoring worsens, it may be a sign that your pillow isn’t keeping your airway passages open. Try a new pillow.
